The 16 locks on the Canal du Nivirnais.

We started the staircase of 16 locks and 3 tunnels totalling 8km. It took us 5 hours  by boat and we cycled it the next day in 25 minutes!!!  Each lock had a little keepers cottage. Number 1 sold ice creams and cold drinks, number 3 was a pottery, I bought 2 mugs for the boat, number 6 sold crepes and coffees and was rather funky! We then waited for the green light to go through the 3 tunnels.
