Manual locks on the Nivernais.

On Sunday 11 August 2013 we entered the canal de Nivernais just after Auxerre. With 9 people and Dixie dog on board we had lots of helpers which was just as well cos all the locks are manual. There's a lock keeper at each lock but they were all happy for the children to help and it kept us moving a bit more quickly. We are 3.7m wide and some of the locks and spaces under the bridges are a little more than 4m which makes for a tight squeeze. Sam
