Our week in Draveil.
Draveil is about 20km from Paris. The marina is within a national park and play area with everything you can think of for children. A little train takes us the 1km to the pool with slide and wave machine. There's pony riding, high ropes course, tennis, canoes, funfair, play areas, just perfect. Clara and Freddie have met a French boy, Leo, and two Belgian children so they are very happy playing. The other children are staying at the marina too. It's lovely listening to them communicating in franglais. I'm remembering a but of French too!
Notre Dame
We walked to Notre Dame and spent some quiet time walking around and marvelling at how it was built and the detail in the design. The world and his wife seem to be in Paris so we had to queue again but not for too long. We plan to leave Paris this afternoon, 26 July 2013.
Seeing the sights in Paris.
Lovely day in Paris been up the
Eiffel Tower and been to
Louvre Museum and seen the
Mona Lisa painting now we are
having a drink. Locking forward
to a nice dinner out in the Latin Quarter!
Paris!
We've arrived in Paris a day earlier than expected - amazing to see all the sights from our own boat and to see the looks on the faces of the tourists we passed. It rained as we passed Notre Dame but it has not dampened our enthusiasm. Now safely ensconced in Paris Arsenal Harbour about 1/2 mile from Notre Dame. A long day but very very worth it!!!!
